Terrific Turnout at Copperstate

October 29, 2015 - EAA Director of Publications Jim Busha, along with several other EAA staff members, recently attended the 43rd annual Copperstate Fly-In located in warm and sunny Casa Grande, Arizona. Hundreds of pilots, many of them EAA members, flew a variety of aircraft into the event that included ultralights, vintage, homebuilts, warbirds, and seaplanes.

“The weather was the best we have experienced in years, with lower temperatures and light winds,” said Copperstate Fly-In Aviation & Education Expo President Steve Bass. “Saturday’s turnout appears to have matched last year’s as we were beginning to fill our overflow GA aircraft parking area and the show plane ramps were close to full.”

The event also included forums, workshops and exhibitors but, as evidenced by the photo gallery, many came to simply enjoy the airplane eye candy spread out under a warm Arizona sky.
