Special Young Eagles Rally This Weekend in Batavia, Ohio

On Saturday, August 13, EAA staff members are heading to Clermont County Airport in Batavia, Ohio, for a special Young Eagles rally and fly-in to help kick off the Young Eagles 30th anniversary. With the help of one of EAA’s most prevalent supporters of the Young Eagles program, Sporty’s Pilot Shop, this event will highlight the strong partnership and shared vision between EAA and Sporty’s.

Beginning at 10 a.m., EAA Chapter 174 will be hosting a Young Eagles rally, with the goal of flying 30 youths. Following the rally, at noon, Sporty’s Pilot Shop will host its famous Saturday fly-in cookout.

EAA staff will be on hand to meet and greet local members. Special Young Eagles 30th anniversary swag will be available free of charge, and guests will be entered into a number of drawings.

One of EAA’s missions is to continue to introduce The Spirit of Aviation to people of all ages. Introducing kids to the aviation industry at a young age can help provide numerous opportunities to kids who never thought that aviation could be in their future. Sporty’s Pilot Shop offers the Sporty’s Learn to Fly Course free of charge to all Young Eagles participants, providing them with the tools needed to jumpstart their flight training journey. Since 2009, more than 80,000 Young Eagles have activated the free Sporty’s Learn to Fly Course.

This Young Eagles rally is a great place for all friends and family to come out and learn about EAA, the Young Eagles program, Sporty’s Pilot Shop, and all things aviation. EAA members and local aviation enthusiasts are invited to drive or fly in for the event. Youth must be pre-registered for a Young Eagles flight at YoungEaglesDay.org.

The specific location is:

Hawk Building
4184 Taylor Road
Batavia, Ohio 45103
