Why Become an EAA/IMC or VMC Club?
- Are you looking to increase your EAA Chapter activity? Do you want to help your fellow pilot friends?
- EAA/IMC or VMC Club provides you the perfect forum! This program was established to create a community of pilots who share information by fostering communications to promote safety and build proficiency.
- The EAA/IMC Club concept is to bring together IFR-rated pilots who fly in real-world “actual IMC” and provide them an opportunity to share stories, network with the broader pilot community, and gain valuable insights and tips for their IFR flying.
- The EAA/VMC Club does the same, but it is addressing issues related to non-instrument operations only.
- As a Program Coordinator, you would organize and provide a location for regularly scheduled meetings, bringing local pilots and aviation enthusiast to your site. It is done through marketing and recognition of the EAA/IMC or VMC Club programming.
- EAA/IMC and VMC Club Meetings provide a forum for promoting participation and discussion of general aviation operations. Sharing your experience through our EAA/IMC and VMC Club network, helps promote you, and your EAA Chapter, while promoting the continuing education and experience of GA pilots everywhere.
- Safer pilots, safer skies, and safer flying: EAA/IMC and VMC Club is the only program dedicated to face-to-face networking and sharing of tips and techniques.

Attaining EAA/IMC or VMC Club Status
- Submitting your application for EAA/IMC or VMC Club programming takes relatively little preparation, and has the capability of being hugely rewarding for you and your fellow pilots.
- The first thing you need is a few interested pilots, in your area, who want to promote flying proficiency and safety, and who want to participate in the EAA/IMC or VMC Club activities.
- Choose a Program Coordinator (it could be you) to be the designated representative for your EAA/IMC or VMC Club.
- Arrange for a meeting place like a conference or briefing room at the airport, large enough to accommodate your participants. You may already have it available in your EAA Chapter.
- Submit your EAA/IMC Club or EAA/VMC Club application (if you already have not done so).
