Young Eagles Risk Management Training

Young Eagles Risk Management training is mandatory for Young Eagles Coordinators. Other Young Eagles and chapter volunteers are encouraged, but not required, take the course.

EAA Young Eagles Risk Management Training is designed to train Young Eagles coordinators, and other chapter leaders, on the importance of running a Young Eagles program within the guidelines set by EAA. This training includes information on program insurance, the importance of flight waivers, planning for the what ifs, and rally planning considerations.

The training consists of a short video presentation, and a follow-up quiz. A score of 70% is required to pass the quiz.

Young Eagles Risk Management Login Process

The online training and quick review will typically take about 45 minutes. Upon successful completion of the online training and review quiz, each volunteer will receive an e-mail confirming he or she has successfully passed the Young Eagles Risk Management Training and a printable card.

  • Why is EAA implementing Young Eagles Risk Management training?

    To educate volunteers on the basic requirements and guidelines of running the Young Eagles program, specifically relating to risk management topics. Maintaining the integrity of the Young Eagles program is of the utmost importance to EAA. Volunteers must be fully aware of why certain guidelines are in place and how the program may suffer should these guidelines not be followed. This training will not implement any new procedures.

  • Who is required to take this training?

    Young Eagles Risk Management training is mandatory for Young Eagles Coordinators. Other Young Eagles and chapter volunteers are encouraged, but not required, to take the course.

  • When do coordinators need to have this training completed?

    Training must be completed by the chapter’s first Young Eagles rally of 2023, or by April 30, whichever occurs first.

  • How often must Young Eagles coordinators complete this training?

    Young Eagles Risk Management training must be renewed every three-years.

  • How can I access the Young Eagles Risk Management training course?

    In order to access the Young Eagles Risk Management you will need to sign in to your account at EAA.org. If you do not have an online account, simply go to the sign in area at the top of page and create a username and password.

    Once you are logged in at EAA.org, go to your Account Profile page by clicking “My Account” at the top of the page.

    At the bottom of your Account Profile, click “Go to Training” then select "Training Information" and "Go to course" for the course you're looking to take. This course is titled “Young Eagles Risk Management Training”
