WASP EXHIBIT OPENING, FEMALE A-10 PILOT AMONG EAA AVIATION MUSEUM HIGHLIGHTS IN MARCH/APRIL 2020

EAA AVIATION CENTER, OSHKOSH, Wisconsin — (February 26, 2020) — March and April 2020 are bringing a variety of special events to the EAA Aviation Museum, with highlights for all ages:

Thursday, March 5, 6:30 p.m. — Movie: “Barnstorming”
This warm and affectionate film tells the true story of an unexpected friendship that developed between a farm family and two pilots who literally dropped out of the sky. Their friendship created a new tradition out of an old one long gone. Free admission for EAA members and those age 18-and-under, $5 for adult nonmembers.

Tuesday, March 10, 10 a.m. — WASP Exhibit ribbon cutting
The Women Airforce Service Pilots (WASP) performed dangerous and heroic duties while flying military aircraft to bases around the world during World War II. This new temporary exhibit in the Eagle Hangar’s Telling Gallery highlights how these women served their country and overcame barriers through their love of flight.

Saturday, March 14, 7-10 p.m. — Hops & Props fundraiser
EAA’s annual food and beverage tasting includes more than 80 craft breweries from throughout the country, as well as food stations, live music and more. Proceeds benefits the museum’s year-round youth education efforts. This year’s event is also the crowning conclusion to the inaugural Oshkosh Craft Beer Week. Only a limited number of general admission tickets remain, with more information available at EAA.org/HopsProps.

Thursday, March 19, 7 p.m. — A-10 pilot Kim Campbell
Kim Campbell shares her journey as a pilot, including flying the venerable Fairchild Republic A-10 Thunderbolt II, also known as the Warthog, in combat theaters. Special thanks to Athena's Voice for making this presentation possible. Free admission for EAA members and those age 18-and-under, $5 for adult nonmembers.

Thursday, April 2, 6:30 p.m. — Movie: “Beyond The Powder”
This documentary film follows the female pilots of the 2014 Air Race Classic as they make their way across the country, while telling the story of the first women's cross-country air race of 1929, known as the Powder Puff Derby. The film's producers, Adam and Kara White, will be on hand to present. Free admission for EAA members and those age 18-and-under, $5 for adult nonmembers.

The EAA Aviation Museum will be closed on Easter Sunday, April 12.
