In August 2026, something special will happen in Mason City, Iowa.

Approximately 40 of the world’s best aerobatic pilots, representing 14 nations, will converge on Mason City to compete in the World Aerobatic Championship — the pinnacle of international competition in aerobatics.

For more than 60 years, the World Aerobatic Championship has represented the highest level of international aerobatic competition. Pilots from around the globe gather to compete for individual and national team honors while demonstrating extraordinary precision, discipline, and aircraft control.

We are proud to welcome this storied championship to Mason City, and for the first time in more than a decade, host the world’s best aerobatic pilots on American soil.

But events like this don’t happen on their own.

The World Aerobatic Championship is being organized by a dedicated team of volunteers and supported by pilots, aviation enthusiasts, businesses, and members of the broader aviation community. Contributions help provide the infrastructure, communications, transportation, volunteer support, and operational resources necessary to host a world-class international championship.

All the competitors representing the United States started exactly where so many EAA members did — at local airports, chapter meetings, fly-ins, and grassroots aviation events. Today, they wear the stars and stripes on the world stage. In 2026, they will have the opportunity to do so at home.

Whether you’re a pilot, aircraft owner, EAA chapter member, aviation business, or simply someone who believes in supporting aviation excellence, we invite you to be part of making this championship possible.

Your contribution helps welcome competitors from around the world, supports Team USA, and ensures that the United States hosts a championship worthy of the pilots who have dedicated their lives to mastering the art of aerobatic flight.
