Setting the Foundation for Discovery Park

Discovery Park, the new youth aviation engagement area on the AirVenture grounds that is set to open in 2027, is progressing as fall arrives in Wisconsin this week. Discovery Park will also be the new home of the popular KidVenture activities beginning next year.

Excavation and site work has been underway since the end of this year’s fly-in. This week, the concrete pad is being poured so the first building frames can go up prior to the onset of winter.

Meanwhile, programming development is also emerging, with focused activities for various age groups. In October’s chapter video available soon, EAA chapters will also learn how they can get involved in the activities to inspire and engage young people in the world of flight.
