It’s that time again. Some of us will be staying several weeks in the Little Canada campsite, and many more will be there either camping at other sites or staying downtown somewhere “more comfortable.”

Your council and volunteers are committed as are many of you. The rhetoric seems to have largely died down, and we hope for another superb year at AirVenture. On a personal note, I’ve always done the “Flying to and From Canada” presentation on my own, but it seems like, since we’re also adding Saturday, we will be sharing the role among several of us. By the way, in a show of hands last year, about 80 percent of the audience was American for that particular presentation, which is not surprising given that most of the attendees in general are based in the U.S. Perhaps the presenters will learn a bit too! We decided to do the Tuesday/Thursday presentations in the afternoon in case there were those volunteers who were unavailable in the morning. As for those of you not planning to attend, we’ll miss you and share a beverage for you.

If you are considering writing an article for publication in Bits and Pieces, please read the guidelines in the May issue. There is some important information. If you don’t know whether it would be of interest to a larger audience, here’s a clue: the most frequently read articles are the shorter ones about something like how you fixed something or added a knick-knack to improve your flying experience.

As always, please don’t hesitate to contact me, Ian Brown, at newsletter.EAACC@gmail.com, and thank you to those who did. I’d also like to express a great thanks to those who contributed to the newsletter this month and especially to Raquel, our chairperson, who not only leads your Canadian Council and contributes her thoughts every month, but she is also constantly busy at AirVenture, with every aspect, including cooking burgers on Sunday night.

We look forward to seeing all of you either for the burger fest on Sunday night, the ice cream social, or the breakfast treat.
