Camping at AirVenture 2026 (Little Canada)
Phillip Johnson, EAA 378381, Tech Counsellor and Chapter Liaison
We are at that time of year when we all start planning for our summer pilgrimage to AirVenture. As many of you know, the Canadian Council arranges group camping in Camp Scholler in a couple of premier locations that are both close to the showground and close to all the activities that happen outside the convention grounds. This offer is open to all Canadians attending AirVenture 2026 and you do not need to be part of a Canadian EAA chapter to join in the fun.
In the past few years, we have provided camping for as many as 55 Canadian co-located campsites. We accommodate campsites from a small one-man tent to large motorhomes and fifth-wheel RVs.
AirVenture 2026 will be no different to previous years, and if you would like to learn more about our offering, and perhaps join us at Camp Scholler, then please contact me, Phillip Johnson, at chapters.eaacc@gmail.com and I’ll send you a brief PDF file explaining everything. The PDF file includes an active link to a Google Form into which you can enter your details. These details allow me to create a detailed jigsaw puzzle getting everyone together. Those of you who have joined us in the past will understand the importance of providing precise information as premier campsites are difficult to come by and this location is quite special.
In addition to Camp Scholler camping, the Canadian Council will offer a complimentary BBQ on Sunday, July 19, at around 5 p.m. where you can meet other Canadians attending AirVenture. The last three years saw as many as 150 BBQ attendees. You do not need to be camping with us to qualify for the complimentary BBQ, and many of the participants from last year were camping in hotels or under the wings of their aircraft. We look forward to meeting everyone. Remember, you can contact me, Phillip Johnson, at chapters.eaacc@gmail.com.
