Space Day, 9/11 commemoration, aviation personalities and more highlight remainder of 2024 for EAA Aviation Museum
EAA AVIATION CENTER, OSHKOSH, Wisconsin — (August 20, 2024) — The EAA Aviation Museum has a plethora of activities for all ages to attend this fall. These activities include the Museum Speaker Series, EAA Space Day, and EAA Christmas in the Air. All events are open to the public.
Museum Speaker Series - Learn about unique and historic aviation experiences during the Aviation Adventure Speaker Series, conducted by passionate aviators with a unique story to tell. Presentations take place in the Founder's Wing at the EAA Aviation Museum. All presentations start at 7 p.m. Snacks and refreshments are available for purchase.
- September 11, 2024: EAA Remembers 9/11 – speakers: Members of New York Fire Department. Join us for a special evening as we reflect on the events of September 11, 2001, with those who were there.
- October 10, 2024: Flying the A-6 Intruder – speaker: Capt. Richard Koehler. The former Naval Aviator Capt. Richard Koehler joins us to walk through his experiences of flying the A-6 Intruder over Vietnam. The A-6 Intruder was a Navy attack aircraft that was flown from the Vietnam War through the Gulf War.
- November 21,2024: The Quest for Speed – speaker: Skip Holm. Former Military Pilot and air racer Skip Holm talks about his career in the military and his world record-setting air race performances.
EAA Space Day - Get ready for takeoff and bring out your inner astronaut on Saturday, October 12 when the EAA Aviation Museum’s annual Space Day returns to Oshkosh, Wisconsin. Space Day is part of a global celebration of World Space Week. Kids and adults of all ages are invited to join us as we celebrate Space Day 2024 with interactive exhibits and special guest appearances. Space Day activities are free with museum admission.
EAA Christmas in the Air (December 7) - Celebrate the holidays with a FREE community and family event for all ages. Explore the museum and enjoy all the holiday decorations throughout the exhibits, along with holiday activities local dance, music, and choral performance groups around the museum. Amidst all the fun, do not miss the arrival of Santa Claus as he flies in by helicopter at noon to visit with all the children! Have your picture taken with Santa or take your own family photos in staged areas throughout the museum.
Wright Brothers Memorial Banquet (December 13) – Honor the spirit and achievements of Wilbur and Orville Wright through stories of adventure, camaraderie, and flight. The banquet is an annual event and is held in the museum’s Eagle Hangar.
