AviationTech is a hands-on STEM immersion activity open to high school students. Participants will begin by working with flight test engineers to gather simulated takeoff data. Participants then use coding, soldering, and CAD-designed components to build a limited-edition AirVenture souvenir — a Wi-Fi-enabled METAR map of KOSH and local airports.
The activity is completed in four stations with five starting times every half hour beginning at 9 a.m. CDT. The activity will take a minimum of one hour to complete; time to completion is primarily dependent on each participant’s experience with soldering.
Please note that AviationTech takes place in the air-conditioned comfort of EAA’s Youth Education Center, which is next to the EAA Aviation Museum, not on the main AirVenture grounds.
Registration is free and open to all youths who will be between the ages of 13 and 18 on the day they participate.
