AirVenture Aircraft Parking Updates

Report posted Sunday, August 1st, at 10:00 AM

General Aviation Camping and Parking Areas
The General Aviation Camping area was expanded this year and remained open for the duration of AirVenture 2021.  The General Aviation Parking area was open much of the event and occasionally closed for twin-engine and heavy single-engine aircraft.

Showplane Areas
Showplane areas accommodated experimentals (homebuilts), warbirds, production aircraft manufactured prior to 1971, ultralights, and amphibians.
These areas remained open for the duration of AirVenture 2021.

Field Status
Thousands of "ghost airplanes" remain in the grass, created by footprints that surrounded aircraft which have now left.  Those ghosts will gradually disappear in the coming months as the grass fills in and readies for your return next year.
