Participate in the 20th Annual EAA AirVenture Cup Race!

March 30, 2017 - Pilots may now begin submitting applications to participate in the 2017 EAA AirVenture Cup Race from Mt. Vernon, Illinois, to Wausau, Wisconsin, beginning at 9 a.m. on Sunday, July 23.

The race, which in the past has drawn aircraft from J-3 Cubs to RVs to Turbine Legends, will be celebrating its 20th anniversary this year. In 1998, the 10 pilots gathered in Kitty Hawk, North Carolina, to fly the first race, an 800-mile cross-country to Oshkosh.

Still going strong, the AirVenture Cup is a fun and exciting way to promote aviation in small communities throughout the country, all while giving pilots a platform to safely explore the capabilities of their aircraft.

EAA Young Eagles will have the chance to meet race participants and their aircraft up close and personal at a rally taking place the day before the event, Saturday, June 22, at the Mt. Vernon Outland Airport.
