Salute to Veterans at AirVenture 2018

May 24, 2018 - EAA is proud to announce another Salute to Veterans during EAA AirVenture Oshkosh on Friday, July 27, 2018. The day’s Salute to Veterans Parade will start at 1:30 p.m. in Warbird Alley and end at Boeing Plaza for a tribute performance by the United States Air Force Honor Guard Drill Team. All veterans are encouraged to join in the parade and are welcome to join the group on Boeing Plaza at 2 p.m. for a group photo.  

Following the afternoon airshow, the Yellow Ribbon Old Glory Honor Flight will return to Oshkosh after a day in Washington D.C. Sponsored by EAA, American Airlines, and Old Glory Honor Flight, over 100 Vietnam-era war veterans will have visited such memorial sites as the Vietnam Veterans Memorial Wall and Arlington National Cemetery that day. We encourage all AirVenture attendees to join in the Welcome Home Ceremony for these veterans at approximately 6:30 p.m. The return will be emotional for many, including the veterans and those welcoming them home. Now is your chance to welcome home the veterans who did not receive the honor upon their return from war.
