Brand New UPS 747-8F Coming to AirVenture 2019
June 20, 2019 - UPS is bringing its newest aircraft, a Boeing 747-8F that hasn't even been delivered to the company from the factory yet, to EAA AirVenture Oshkosh 2019 for multiple days.
The massive cargo aircraft is slated to arrive in the morning on Tuesday, July 23, and will put on a show with a slow speed pass on arrival and upon its departure on Thursday at the conclusion of the air show that day.
Between those events, the nose of the 747 will be open for tours, with lots of helpful information and graphics along with the flight crew and other UPS staff on hand to inform AirVenture attendees.
In addition to informative displays, the fuselage of an airplane being built by young people in a UPS maintenance information program will be on display inside of the 747 during its time in Oshkosh.
The aircraft will be UPS' newest, and fittingly is coming to Oshkosh on the 50th anniversary year of the 747's first flight in 1969. It will feature in this year's EAA WomenVenture photo on Wednesday, July 24.
"This is our third year bringing aircraft to AirVenture, and we’re very happy to participate and give back to the aviation community that's treated us so well," said Dennis Faulk, director of ground services and airline flight operations at UPS.
