Plane Savers DC-3 Coming to Oshkosh
July 3, 2019 - Mikey McBryan is bringing the World War II veteran DC-3 that had its restoration documented on the video series Plane Savers to EAA AirVenture Oshkosh 2019.
The DC-3, which served as a Dakota in the Royal Air Force, was recently restored just in time to fly again on June 6, 2019, 75 years to the day after it took part in the D-Day mission. The C-47 also took part in Operation Market Garden and other wartime missions before returning to Canada and eventually finding its way to Mikey.
"After the success of our D-Day DC-3 project, I wanted to share the aircraft with as many aviation people as possible," Mikey said. "The best place in the world to do that is EAA AirVenture!"
