Interested in Becoming a Pilot? Visit the Learn to Fly Center During AirVenture 2023

The EAA Learn to Fly Center is the place for people who want to kick-start their own pursuit of flight during EAA AirVenture Oshkosh 2023, with simulators, seminars, and information available throughout the event.

“AirVenture through the years has inspired countless people to take action on their personal dreams of flight,” said David Leiting, EAA’s Eagles program manager. “The Learn to Fly Center, located right in the heart of the grounds, provides information on the time and cost of becoming a pilot, answers common questions about learning to fly, and provides the opportunity to get firsthand experience with a flight simulator to log an official introductory flight lesson with certificated instructors.”

A top feature of EAA Learn to Fly Center activities in 2023 is the Redbird Touch ‘n Go Academy, which offers a one-hour introductory flight lesson in a Redbird flight simulator, led by certificated flight instructors. Participants will earn an official flight training hour recorded in their own logbook. Registration for these sessions will be conducted on-site at AirVenture. (Participants must be U.S. citizens in order to complete a TSA background check, so they should bring a valid passport, or a birth certificate and photo ID.)

In addition, there will be daily forums on saving time and money in flight training, FAA medical certification, overcoming training obstacles, passing the checkride, and more. Other features at the Learn to Fly Center include:

  • Ability to find local flight schools and aviation medical examiners
  • Registration for a free introductory Eagle Flight or Flying Start event
  • Opportunity to try the EAA Virtual Flight Academy – powered by Sporty’s
  • Information on EAA’s Learn to Fly programs and resources

The EAA Learn to Fly Center is located at the central Four Corners area on the AirVenture grounds, just west of Boeing Plaza.
