Schedule Announced for Ultralights at Oshkosh 40th Anniversary

June 9, 2016 - Ultralight and lightplane owners, bring your aircraft to AirVenture and share the air with John Moody to celebrate the 40th anniversary of ultralights at Oshkosh. Moody first flew his Easy Riser ultralight design at the 1976 convention, and this year he will be back, flying his Easy Riser and weight-shift Eagle. With your help, we can make Oshkosh 2016 one for the books!

The preliminary daily schedule for the Fun Fly Zone grass is as follows:

7-9 a.m.                                   Powered Parachutes

9-11:30 a.m.                            Ultralight and Lightplanes

11:30 a.m.-2:30 p.m.               Rotorcraft

2:30-6:30 p.m.                        Air show; no flight operations

6:30-7:30 p.m.                        Ultralight and Lightplanes

7:30-8 p.m.                              Powered Parachutes

There is also a special schedule for Valdez STOL airplanes demonstrations taking place at the Fun Fly Zone grass runway:

Tuesday, July 26         7:45-8:30 p.m             Valdez STOL Demo

Thursday, July 28       11 a.m.-Noon              Valdez STOL Demo

Friday, July 29            7:30-8:30 p.m              Valdez STOL Demo

Saturday, July 30        11 a.m.-Noon              Valdez STOL Demo

This year’s balloon launch is scheduled for 6 a.m. on Saturday, July 30. Balloon tether operations will take place daily in the morning and evening, as weather permits, in front of the Fun Fly Zone barn.
