More Than You Thought: Food Options at AirVenture 2017

July 6, 2017 - How do you feed more than 500,000 people two or more meals a day over a seven-plus-day period and provide enough variety and locations, and be sensitive to dietary needs while keeping the price/value equation in check?

Challenge accepted!

There are more than 40 food outlets all around the EAA AirVenture Oshkosh grounds. These include:

  • 27 food concession locations operated by 15 unique vendors
  • 10 Lemon Chill carts
  • 5 soda/water carts operated by local nonprofit organizations (YMCA, Kiwanis, JDRF) with portions of sales going to benefit these causes
  • 1 snack concession for the Ford Fly-In Theater operated by the Town of Nekimi Fire Department with portions of sales going to benefit their operations

We’ve worked hard with our vendors to ensure you’re getting value and to keep prices fair. EAA strives to ensure guests are receiving value for prices paid in the food and beverage program. One criteria for selecting our vendor-partners is their experience in, and knowledge of, the food industry at festivals, air shows, or any large-scale events to ensure EAA remains competitive. Many of the prices for menu items are at or below regular value at other shows the size of AirVenture. EAA works with the vendors each year to ensure guest prices are fair and the variety of foods will cater to everyone’s needs.

There are more vegetarian and gluten-free options than ever before at many concession locations. Look for the Vegetarian and Gluten-Free icons on select menus scattered throughout the AirVenture grounds and enjoy these expanded options for those with restricted diets.

There is huge variety of options on the AirVenture grounds where you can get anything from a sugar donut to coconut shrimp and practically anything in between. You’ll discover ice cream, Jambalaya, a Wisconsin-style fish fry, hearty breakfasts, pizza, brats, turkey burgers, and international flavors. The list is seemingly endless. Watch for nightly specials at Tailwind Café (formerly Ace’s Café) so be sure to stop by each evening and try something different.

EAA members save with Member Meals (special, bundled options at EAA member prices) available at all food outlets. Another of example of your EAA membership paying dividends year round. Just look for the Member Meals options on each menu board and save!

Our attendees spoke, and we listened. EAA staff and our vendor-partners have worked diligently to provide EAA members and AirVenture visitors with food and beverage options that will make their Oshkosh experience memorable. And in 2017, we’ve delivered, so come hungry!
